Restoration, water supplies and investigation
Limits
Restoration timing is attributed to the Water Supplies Department through HK01 and separately reported by TVB; the sources are separate editorial families, not independent official confirmations. The cause remains under investigation. No pipe-replacement date was given in the checked report. The 2020 photograph shows the street for context, not the incident.

Short news brief. Jordan water supply returned progressively to two nearby residential buildings from around 9 p.m. on November 3 after a freshwater pipe burst during nearby saltwater-pipe repairs, according to the Water Supplies Department’s account reported by HK01. TVB also reported the restoration.
Pipe burst during saltwater repairs
The burst happened on Tak Shing Street that afternoon. HK01 published scene photographs and described footage from a nearby shop showing water erupting during excavation. The department said an old asbestos-cement freshwater pipe beside its contractor’s emergency saltwater-main works had burst. The cause remains under investigation.
The department deployed two water tankers and five tanks, TVB and HK01 reported. HK01 said water bags and bottled water were also provided and quoted the department as saying shops could largely continue operating after receiving temporary supplies.
Jordan water supply restored, replacement plan pending
The department told HK01 that the old pipe was already included in its risk-based water-main improvement program. It said it would coordinate with government departments and building management to prepare a replacement plan. The report gave no replacement date.
